WINDOWS 101

  • Casement:         Casement Style windows

    Casement windows are hinged at the sides and project outward, so the screens
    must be placed on the inside.

  • Awning:              Awning style windows

    Awning windows are hinged at the top and open outward.   Like Casements,
    the screens must be placed on the inside.

  • Hopper:              Hopper style window

    Hopper windows are hinged at the bottom and open inward.  Screens are placed
    on the exterior of the window unit.

  • Slider:                  Sliding style windows

    Sashes slide horizontally. Screens can be exterior or interior.

  • Single and Double Hung:Double Hung window styles

    Sashes slide vertically.  In a Single, the top window does not move.  Screens are typically on the exterior.
